Increased Poultry Consumption is Boosting the Demand of Vietnam Animal Feed Market
Poultry consumption in Vietnam has been steadily rising, driven by growing demand for affordable and protein-rich food among the population. According to the Canadian government, the country’s per capita consumption of fresh and processed was 44.4 kilograms in 2022. This rise in consumption has directly led to higher demand for animal feed, particularly for poultry, creating opportunities for feed producers to expand their offerings and production capacities.
Rising Demand for Aquafeed is Impacting the Vietnam Animal Feed Market Revenue
Vietnam's aquaculture industry, one of the largest in Southeast Asia, has seen significant growth, particularly in the production of fish, shrimp, and other seafood. The country exported fresh and chilled fish fillets worth USD 9 million in 2022. This growing demand for seafood is driving the need for specialised aquafeeds to support the health and growth of aquatic species. As the domestic and export markets for fish and shrimp expand, particularly to regions like China and the EU, aquafeed is expected to become a critical segment of the animal feed industry.
Expansion of Production Facilities is Increasing Supply in the Vietnam Animal Feed Market
As demand for animal products, particularly poultry, continues to rise, many feed manufacturers are investing in expanding their production facilities across Vietnam. This growth is driven by the need to scale up production to meet both domestic consumption and the growing export market. Larger and more sophisticated production plants allow for better economies of scale, lower production costs, and the ability to meet higher quality standards. Additionally, the development of more modern feed mills and integrated production systems enables the sector to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise the use of raw materials in feed formulations.
Advancements in Production Technologies are Encouraging the Vietnam Animal Feed Market Development
The animal feed sector in Vietnam is experiencing rapid advancements in feed production technologies, including automation, precision feeding systems, and the use of alternative ingredients like plant-based proteins and functional additives. These innovations allow to produce higher-quality feed that is more efficient, cost-effective, and nutritionally balanced, which is crucial for meeting the evolving needs of modern poultry farming. Furthermore, technological advances such as the development of feed that enhances animal health, growth rates, and disease resistance are becoming more prevalent. This shift towards smarter, more sustainable feed production is helping producers improve profitability and meet increasing demand while adhering to environmental and regulatory standards
The growth of the Vietnam animal feed industry is being driven by the expansion of industrial farms, which is increasing the demand for high-quality feed to ensure consistent animal growth and efficiency. There is a noticeable shift towards adopting well-balanced, nutrient-rich feed that meets the specific dietary requirements of different animal breeds.
