Key Trends in The Market

Hybrid seeds are produced by the cross-pollination of plants, by crossing two different varieties of the same plant. The pollen is taken from the male part of one plant to the female part of the other plant. The fruit develops in the ovary and the seeds produced in the fruit are hybrid, with characteristics of both of the original types of plants.

  • The indoor farming method has not only gained importance and popularity but also acquired a major share in the global hybrid seeds market. They have developed a higher rate of growth in the market because they can deliver more products with the minimum usage of resources.
  • Hybrid fruits and vegetable hybrid seeds are also gaining popularity. An increase in production per unit area is achieved by using quality seeds with built-in inbred and hybrid vigour. Improved vegetable cultivation technology and government policies are an add-on in order to obtain better produce.
  • Increase in population worldwide and growing trend of veganism are resulting in a greater demand from agriculture. Goals for crops that are fast growing and healthy, and limit burden on natural resources are fuelling the demand for innovations in hybrid seeds.
