PE compound or polyethylene compound, often referred to as polythene, is a thermoplastic polymer that finds a range of applications in diverse industries, based on their specific type. Polyethylene (PE) is known to be one of the most commonly manufactured thermoplastics globally. Polyethylene compounds are produced in various types, and each one of these is ideal for a varied set of applications. Pipe and fitting, and wire cable form the leading application of PE compound. Besides, the superior chemical resistance of this resin increases the longevity of cable coverings, as it does not corrode, even in the absence of cathode protection.

 

Since thermoplastics such as polyethylene compounds liquefy when heated to their melting point instead of burning, and can further be cooled, and reheated without major loss or degradation, they are increasingly being used in various products, allowing them to be recycled and renewed in different applications.
