Whereas 18.42% of the consumers claimed that they use the plastic bag which is provided to them by the store they are shopping from. 14.47% of the consumers pay extra to use a reusable bag. Another 6.58% of consumers make it a habit to ask for a reusable bag, if not provided otherwise.

 

The survey finds that there is a clear indication of the growth in demand for reusable bags and plastic alternatives. Gen Z shoppers have started to move rapidly towards sustainable purchasing and are willing to pay more for such alternatives. For instance, the growing popularity of tote bags and thrifted clothes suggests that they are becoming a common choice for the eco-shoppers. This is also the result of Governments and municipalities introducing bans and restrictions on single use plastic.
